The following modalities are employed: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, and Reflexology.
Reiki can be performed for the last fifteen minutes of the massage at no additional charge.
Swedish is your basic relaxation massage. It aims to promote relaxation by releasing muscle tension.
Deep Tissue consists of movements designed to smooth out rough spots and is geared towards athletes. It is now seen as a skill which helps in speeding up the recovery process from injuries and in augmenting performance. Deep Tissue is very beneficial in muscle strains as it softens the stiffness and prevents scar tissue formation at the site of injury.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger Point Therapy uses a well defined map of trigger points on the body which have been found to correlate with longstanding muscle tightness. By releasing one trigger point at the site of pain, often another trigger point will reveal itself nearby. By following the points and releasing each one of them, this pain may be resolved.
Reflexology is similar to Trigger Point Therapy, in that it uses a map of the body on the feet and releases tension by working the corresponding part of the foot to where dysfunction is occurring in the body.
